Dr Ricky Bell is one of the few physiotherapists with a Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy. Having initially worked as a physio in Australia for over a decade, he has been back working in Aotearoa New Zealand for nearly 15 years. He is an expert hands on physio who enjoys helping people with neck/back pain and headaches.
He has also previously worked with many sporting teams in Australia including the Brisbane Bullets Basketball team, Brisbane Broncos RLFC and was the official team physiotherapist for the Queensland Under 19 Women’s Netball team from 1996 to 2001. He was also the team physio for Te Rarawa Rugby Football Club in the Far North Mangonui comp for over a decade.
He has a special interest in spinal pathology and sports injuries but attends to all musculoskeletal problems. Through the support of Hapū Whānau, he was honoured to be the first Māori to be awarded a PhD from the School of Physiotherapy at the University of Otago in 2018. Ricky was also Head Lecturer at the newest physiotherapy school in NZ (Wintec) and has had his research published in many journals.
